Who we are

Ash of Ancoats are a national supplier of access equipment to the trade and public sectors. The company was founded by two brothers Michael and Peter Ash. They opened their first store in Ancoats, Manchester in 1975 from where the name Ash of Ancoats was born. Ash started life as a DIY store selling everything from screws & nails to Formica including small ladders. Over the years they evolved into a ladder specialist dropping the DIY side of the business and expanding the ladder side into all access equipment. In that time they built up a strong reputation in the north west as a premier ladder supplier to the trade and the public.

In 2014 after a long standing relationship Plasman Laminate Products Ltd bought the brand. Plasman are one of the leading worksurface suppliers in the UK with the longest standing distributorships for both the Formica group and Bushboard ltd, distributing laminate and kitchen work-surfaces for many years. Plasman was founded over 70 years ago and is still to this day owned by the same family that started the business all those years ago.

Ash of Ancoats is now located at Plasman's main site 'Plasman Industrial Center M19 3JZ' still in Manchester but a couple of miles away from the original shop in Ancoats. See find us for all Ash of Ancoats details.
